Ohio Wesleyan University is pleased to announce its 2014 Spring semester Dean's List. To qualify for OWU Dean's List recognition, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes. Congratulations, Bishops!

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Some 2,904 students were awarded a variety of bachelor's degrees during the University of Vermont's 213th Commencement ceremonies on May 18. There were some 575 advanced degrees and certificates awarded by the UVM Graduate College and approximately 106 women and men took the oath of Hippocrates following the awarding of their M.D. degrees at ceremonies of the UVM College of Medicine. The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2014 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Clemson University students participated in a trip to El Progreso, Honduras, during spring break to help build a school. They mixed and poured concrete before laying the cinder block foundation of Democracia Middle School. They also spent time with the children of the village, a tutoring them or starting games of soccer.

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a fall 2013 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,774 students receiving the same honor.

In today's competitive job market, college students recognize the value of high-impact learning experiences, like internships, study abroad and research.

Miami University students who ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2013-2014 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic performance.

The following Colgate University students are recipients of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced its fall semester 2014 Deans' List for its eight colleges and the Honor Roll for undeclared students in the Explore Center.

Students have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for the 2013 fall semester.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Nearly 450 students were named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.

34 students from the Roy H. Park School of Communications have been selected by NBC Sports to assist with the network's coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games, being held Feb. 6-23 in Sochi, Russia.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

More than 800 Belmont University student musicians, singers and faculty along with the Nashville Children's Choir perform in the nationally televised airing of "Christmas at Belmont." Hosted by internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, the annual production of traditional carols, classical masterworks, world music and light-hearted seasonal favorites will premiere on PBS on December 20 at 9 p.m. Central.

Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2013 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.

Summary

The Fall 2013 semester welcomed more than 1300 new transfer and freshmen students to Durango, Colorado.

The following students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team for the 2013-14 season.

502 students were awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree during Carleton College's 139th Commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, June 15.
